Gambella Branch Office

RRS – Gambella Branch Office, located in Gambella Regional State in western Ethiopia bordering with South Sudan.

Currently RRS – Gambella Branch Office is hosting refugees in the region under the following seven (7) Camps:

General information:

  • Coordinated under the RRS Gambella branch office,
  • Date of establishment: 26 March 2015
  • Area coverage: 12.6 km2,

The camp is found in Gambella Regional State, Agnwa zone, Gambella Zuria woreda, Jewi kebele. It is 762 km far from Addis Ababa, 15 km from Gambella town (the regional capital), and 60 km from zonal town, and 33 km from woreda town.

As of October 2022, the camp is hosting 66,421 refugees exclusively from South Sudan. The number of host communities at the woreda and kebele levels respectively is 17,753 and 1,780.

RRS, UNHCR, WFP, and 20 other national and international partners operate in the camp.

As of October 2022, the camp is hosting 51,524 refugees exclusively from South Sudan. The number of host communities at the woreda and kebele levels respectively is 59,212 and 3,736.

The camp is located in Gambella Regional State, Agnwa Zone, Dima wereda, Dip kebele. It is 673 km from Addis Ababa, 780 km from Gambela town (the capital of the region), 850 km from Zonal town, and 7 km from wereda town.

As of October 2022, the camp is hosting 13,482 refugees totally from South Sudan. The number of host communities at the woreda and kebele levels respectively are 13,409 and 1,537.

The camp is working with UNHCR, WFP, and 8 other national and international partners.

As of October 2022, the camp is hosting 48,840 refugees exclusively from South Sudan. The number of host communities at the woreda and kebele levels respectively are 28,213 and 14,116.
