The Director General of Refugees and Returnees Service – RRS @TeybaHassen, together with UN High Commissioner for Refugees @FilippoGrandi, had a meeting with President @TayeAtske of Ethiopia.
During the meeting, the two sides were engaged in a candid and constructive discussion focused on matters of mutual interest and shared responsibility, particularly in the area of forced displacement.
The discussion also focused on the importance of sustained international solidarity, strengthened partnerships and inclusive policies to enhance refugee protection and self-reliance while supporting host communities across the country.
The DG and HC have also briefed the President on Ethiopia’s continued leadership and commitment to hosting one of the largest refugee populations in Africa and beyond.
The President reaffirmed Ethiopia’s dedication to upholding its longstanding tradition of hospitality and reiterated the need for durable solutions that prioritize dignity, peace and development.
