The Ambassadors of Canada, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Finland and Luxembourg praise Ethiopia for its exceptional determination in hosting huge number of refugees and underlined the need for continued support.
During a visit led by Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS) Director General Teyiba Hassen to Gambella Regional State, the delegation acknowledged Ethiopia’s significant contribution to providing a safe sanctuary for refugees from various countries, including South Sudan.
The ambassadors highlighted their respective governments’ ongoing support for Ethiopia’s refugee operations and expressed commitment to continue the assistance, noting that their visit to refugee camps underscored the critical importance of continued support for the refugee population in Ethiopia.
DG Teyiba commended Gambella Regional State for its substantial efforts in hosting large number of refugees and called on stakeholders to provide sufficient and sustained support.
Meanwhile, Gambella Regional State Chief Alemitu Umod confirmed the State’s commitment to supporting refugees by sharing the limited resources and called on stakeholders to live upto their expectations.
