Marking a major breakthrough, a European Union funded project, promoting the inclusion of refugees and host communities through the Kebribeyah Roadmap, has been launched today.
The Government of Ethiopia, the EU, UNHCR and the Somali Regional State took the initiative to strengthen refugee inclusion and support sustainable solutions in the Somali Regional State.
The project is highly anticipated to benefit both refugees and their gracious hosting communities and internally displaced persons in Kebribeyah.
Implemented by UNHCR in close partnership with the GoE and the Somali Regional State, the project supports the delivery of key pledges under the Makatet Roadmap, which promotes inclusion and equitable access to basic services.
The project is also aligned with the Somali Regional State development and reform plans, reinforcing the region’s vision of resilient communities capable of achieving peace, stability and sustainable development.
It will expand access to housing, education, health and waste management while strengthening institutional capacity to ensure inclusive and sustainable service delivery.
