The RRS Teyiba Hassen held a fruitful discussion with Dr. Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs

The Director General of Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS) Teyiba Hassen held a fruitful discussion with Dr. Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs to reinforce joint efforts aimed at enhancing the inclusion and protection of refugees into national systems.

The meeting focused on advancing collaborative engagement to expand refugee inclusion into national systems, with particular emphasis on strengthening support for refugee women and children.

Both sides underscored the importance of broadening access to essential social protection services and improving coordination across key programmatic areas that would contribute to the wellbeing and resilience of refugee populations.

The two institutions reached an agreement to sign a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU will formalize their partnership, clearly outline roles and responsibilities and establish a robust framework for sustained cooperation.

Once signed, the agreement is expected to create stronger mechanisms for coordinated action, improve service delivery and advance the collective commitment to ensuring that refugees—especially women and children—are better protected and included within national systems.
