Refugee representatives are attending a training workshop on “Justice for Children Training Manual” in Jigjiga town of the Somali Regional State.

The training is a platform for refugee leaders to gain knowledge and skills to advocate for the rights of children within their communities.

In his remarks @ the opening of the training, RRS Deputy Director General Bruhtesfa Mulugeta underlined that such programs are important in equipping trainees with what it takes to defend the rights of children.

Seizing the opportunity, Bruhtesfa called on participants to actively engage in the sessions and encouraged them to play their part and ensure the success of the program.

By directly referring to the manual, participants will strengthen their ability to protect vulnerable children, promote justice and ensure that every child’s voice is heard.

The participation of refugee representatives in the training highlights the importance Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS) and UNICEF attach to inclusion and collaboration.

Their lived experiences would highly help enrich the session, ensuring that solutions are practical, compassionate and community driven.

It’s to be recalled that a week ago, RRS provided training of trainers for RRS Head Office and Branch Office protection officers in Adama city with the financial assistance of UNICEF and academic support of Addis Ababa University.
