Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS) held a high-level strategic dialogue with Samaritan’s Purse Ethiopia to further strengthen institutional partnership in support of Ethiopia’s refugee response.
During the meeting, RRS expressed its appreciation for the organization’s significant contributions to humanitarian assistance for refugees and vulnerable host communities.
Samaritan’s Purse has played a vital role in delivering critical support across the health, nutrition, WASH, emergency response, and related sectors, making a meaningful impact on the lives of refugees and surrounding communities in the Afar and Amhara regions.
The discussions focused on deepening the strategic partnership between RRS and Samaritan’s Purse to enhance coordinated, principled, and effective interventions for refugees and host communities.
Both parties emphasized the importance of aligning their efforts with the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus framework to promote sustainable and comprehensive responses to displacement challenges.
Samaritan’s Purse delegation, led by Country Director Mr. Phillip, highlighted the importance of strengthened coordination and joint resource mobilization to address the growing humanitarian needs within the current refugee response.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further expanding collaboration and reinforcing collective efforts to improve protection, resilience, and access to essential services for refugees and host communities across Ethiopia.
