Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), with financial support from UNICEF, is providing training in Semera Town to Refugee Community Representatives on the Justice for Children Training Manual, with a particular focus on refugee children in Ethiopia.

The initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of community representatives in promoting child protection and ensuring access to justice within refugee settings.

The training seeks to improve participants’ understanding of child rights and legal protection frameworks, strengthen knowledge of child-sensitive justice procedures, enhance case identification, referral and follow-up mechanisms, promote prevention and response to Violence Against Children (VAC), and reinforce coordination among key stakeholders.

The sessions cover key thematic areas, including legal and policy frameworks for child protection, core principles of Justice for Children, child-friendly communication and ethical standards, case management and referral pathways, as well as community roles in preventing and responding to violence against children.

The training forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen child protection and justice systems in refugee settings through the capacity building of community representatives and committees.
