Refugees and Returnee Service (RRS) held fruitful discussion with members of Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Standing Committee of the House of People’s Representatives.

During the meeting, RRS Director General Teyiba Hassen noted that the discussion would help Committee members get clear understanding of RRS’ mission and operations.

Given the huge responsibility entrusted to the Service, the DG emphasized the importance of working with the House of Representatives to develop and implement relevant legal frameworks.

Chairperson of the Standing Committee Dr. Dima Negewo highlighted that such discussions are key to foster a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of RRS.

The Chairperson noted that these exchanges would equip his Committee members with the basics of the Service, which leads to proper support and follow-up for the institution.

The Committee members raised various questions and shared their perspectives, receiving responses and clarifications from RRS’ top management.
