The South Sudanese delegation paid a visit to the Ethiopian National ID Program

The South Sudanese delegation led by John Dominic Dabi, Deputy Commissioner of Refugee Affairs, paid a visit to the Ethiopian National ID Program to learn from Ethiopia’s experience in digital identity systems.

The delegation was received by Yodahe Zemichael, Executive Director of National ID Program, who provided an overview of the program’s objectives, structure and operational framework.

During the visit, the delegation got a firsthand look at how Ethiopia’s digital identification system is designed and integrated into refugee and the broader public service delivery.

Discussions highlighted the role of digital (Fayda) ID in improving service efficiency, strengthening data management and enhancing access to essential services for refugees and host communities alike.

The visit served as a valuable platform for experience sharing and knowledge exchange, emphasizing the importance of digital transformation in modern refugee management systems and reinforcing cooperation between Ethiopia and South Sudan in refugee affairs.
