One solid year elapsed witnessing an influx of refugees fleeing the strife-ridden Sudan to Ethiopia.

Over the course of one year, starting from April 2023, Ethiopia has witnessed a significant influx of refugees fleeing the conflict-stricken Sudan.

More than 100,000 individuals have crossed the border into Ethiopia from Sudan during this period.

The Metema and Kurmuk provinces of Amhara and Benishangul Gumuz regions, respectively, have registered more than 50,300 refugees and asylum-seekers.

Ethiopia’s Refugees and Returnees Service, with the support from UNHCR and partners has taken immediate action to address this critical emergency by providing essential services such as protection, documentation, education, healthcare, and nutrition. However, the operation is seriously hampered by shortage of funding.

Join the Ethiopian Refugee Operation and contribute to the cause of providing assistance to those affected.

Stand in solidarity with Ethiopia’s efforts by supporting the Ethiopian Refugee Operation.
