At the “2026 ID4Africa Annual General Meeting” held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia’s delegation highlighted the country’s achievement in Fayda Digital ID Program.
The delegation showcased how the system is improving access to public and private services through a secure, inclusive and scalable digital identity ecosystem.
The major focus of Ethiopia’s representation was the refugee inclusion program, which integrates refugees and asylum seekers into the national digital identity system.
Through collaboration between Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), National ID Program and UNHCR, refugees are now able to receive Fayda, enabling improved access to banking, education, healthcare and other essential services.
Ethiopia’s approach has been recognized as an important example of inclusive digital identity and humanitarian innovation in Africa.
