Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), in collaboration with Regional Durable Solutions Secretariat (ReDSS), has kicked-off a two-day workshop in Addis Ababa under the theme: “Charting Out the Path to Resilience – Bridging Commitments and Realities in Ethiopia’s Durable Solutions Landscape.”
The workshop aims to assess the progress of ongoing livelihood projects and evaluate their specific contributions toward advancing durable solutions for refugees and returnees in Ethiopia.
It also seeks to institutionalize a formal Durable Solutions Working Group to strengthen coordination, collaboration and long-term strategic engagement among stakeholders working in the sector.
The event has brought together representatives from line ministries, development and humanitarian partners as well as donors to deliberate on key priorities and practical pathways for enhancing resilience and sustainable solutions.
Over two consecutive days, the workshop is structured to foster both technical and strategic engagements. The first day has been dedicated to in-depth technical discussions, including detailed deliberations on implementation challenges, lessons learned and solution-mapping exercises aimed at improving the effectiveness of durable solutions programming and implementation.
The second day will feature high-level strategic engagement sessions dedicated to endorse the findings and recommendations from the technical debate, future coordination mechanisms and strengthen collective commitment toward advancing Ethiopia’s durable solutions agenda.
