Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), with financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP), has successfully concluded the capacity-building training for staff drawn from its head office and branch offices in Adama City.
The training was organized to strengthen the technical, financial, and programmatic capacities of the staff to effectively implement, monitor, and report on the RRS–WFP joint project while ensuring compliance with relevant requirements and agreed procedures.
Throughout the training, participants gained practical knowledge and skills on budget utilization, financial management, and reporting in accordance with the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The sessions also familiarized participants with the Ethiopia Refugee Initiatives for Self-Reliance and Empowerment (E-RISRE) and its alignment with the MAKATET Roadmap, enabling them to better understand the partnership framework, implementation arrangements, and respective responsibilities.
The training also provided an important platform for participants to share practical experiences and raise challenges encountered in the course of their regular duties. Participants engaged in detailed discussions on these challenges, while the training facilitators provided clarifications and practical guidance on the issues and questions raised.
The capacity-building initiative is expected to contribute to strengthened institutional capacity, improved project implementation and reporting, and enhanced compliance with the commitments outlined under the RRS–WFP partnership.
