3rd Round Bajaj Handover

With the financial support of the European Union, the third batch of 15 three-wheel vehicles (Bajajs) were handed over to 15 Ethiopian returnees (9 M & 6 F) from European countries today, December 20, 2021, by Returnees Reintegration Project Management Office (RRPMO), Refugees and Returnees Services (RRS). The event was held at the RRPMO compound in Addis Ababa.
The ceremony began with senior RRPMO’s staff blessing the returnees and the project office, as is our custom of recognizing excellent deeds and wishing them a prosperous business and life.
Mr. Zewdu Bedada, the Project Manager, stated in his opening remarks that the project management office traveled a long distance to ensure that returnees are supported and be self-reliant. He recalled that in the previous two rounds, RRPMO had distributed 18 Bajajas for returnees RRPO has provided 33 three-wheel Bajajs in total over the last year, including the one that are being handed over today.
He stated his sincere hope that returnees will serve as a catalyst for change, showing potential migrants that hard work pays off at home. Finally, he handed over the keys to the returnees in the presence of the RRPMO management team and staff, as well as returnees and their representatives. Returnees on their part expressed their dedication and commitment to work harder and full fill their dreams of better life-that forced them to travel to a foreign land.
Mr. Mignot Derara, Project Coordinator, also sent a thank you note to the RRPMO staff and the procurement team for putting these together and advising returnees on how to succeed in their business endeavor.
Finally, the project management office staffs and returnees had a delicious luncheon together, and had a photo taking opportunity.
And this has brought the day’s activity to an end.
