Today, the Director General of @RRSEthiopia Teyiba Hassen hosted Sofie From-Emmesberger, the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Ethiopia.
In their discussion, they thoroughly explored ways to revitalize cooperation on return and reintegration and the refugee operation, with a strong focus on ensuring sustainable solutions for refugees and returnees.
DG Teyiba said, “We emphasized the importance of establishing better support systems to help refugees and returnees rebuild their lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities. This will ensure a sustainable and inclusive approach toward effective inclusion.”
In addition, they exchanged views on potential areas for future engagement, such as enhancing policy coordination, strengthening institutional capacity and fostering partnership with relevant stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to inclusion.
“The meeting underscored our shared commitment to addressing migration challenges in a humane and sustainable manner. I’m confident that our continued collaboration will lead to impactful outcomes for refugees, returnees and their communities,” Ambassador Sofie noted.
We anticipate that RRS-EU would build on this dialogue and deepen their bilateral partnership in the spirit of common interest and shared responsibility.
