The African Union’s 5th Specialized Technical Committee meeting on Migration, Refugees & Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) has successfully concluded its ministerial session.
Ethiopia has officially accepted its selection as the Second Chair of this important committee, building on the groundwork laid during the preceding technical sessions.
Based on the experts’ recommendations, the ministerial discussion focused on enhancing protection mechanisms for refugees and IDPs and addressing statelessness across Africa.
It also dwelt on promoting safe and regular migration pathways and strengthening continental cooperation on displacement issues.
