Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), with financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP), is conducting a three-day capacity-building training for RRS staff drawn from the Head Office and all refugee operations across the country in Adama City.
The training aims to strengthen the technical, financial, and programmatic capacities of RRS staff to effectively implement, monitor, report on, and ensure compliance with the RRS–WFP joint project.
Throughout the three-day training, participants are being equipped with knowledge and practical skills across three key thematic areas: budget utilization, progress and financial reporting as per the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Furthermore, participants will also be familiarized with the Ethiopia Refugee Initiatives for Self-Reliance and Empowerment (E- RISRE) and its alignment with the Makatet Roadmap to better understand the partnership framework and respective obligations.
The training is designed as an interactive learning platform, featuring group discussions and practical reflections. These approaches are intended to facilitate deeper understanding of the project framework, clarify institutional responsibilities, and strengthen participants’ capacity.
The initiative underscores the commitment of RRS and WFP to strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing effective project implementation, and promoting greater accountability and compliance in the delivery of services to refugees and host communities.
