The Director General of Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), Teyiba Hassen, received Galma Mukhe Boru, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Ethiopia, for a courtesy meeting at her office.
During the discussion, both sides emphasized the longstanding partnership between the two countries and their shared commitment to supporting the Kenyan community currently hosted in Ethiopia. The meeting also explored ongoing cooperation in facilitating durable solutions, particularly focusing on voluntary return opportunities for individuals wishing to reunite with their home communities.
The Refugees and Returnees Service reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Embassy of Kenya in Ethiopia and UNHCR to ensure that the voluntary return process is carried out in a well-coordinated manner and with full respect for the dignity of those involved.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their readiness to strengthen continued cooperation and diplomatic engagement in support of individuals seeking sustainable solutions and a successful transition to the next chapter of their lives.
